To beach or not to beach?

We couldn’t be further from the sea

This is just about the only pitfall of being in the dead centre of England. You cannot get further away from any sea than we are. Which means East, West or South, it’s a similar distance to sand. So where shall we go? And what shall we do when we get there? In the top spot at the moment is building a bar on the beach at Wells-Next–the-sea. That way we can surmount the fact that the beach is quite far from any public houses, but can we carry all of our beach accessories the half-mile from the road?  However, who’s going to carry the volleyball gear and what will we eat without a barbecue?
