BBC Annual Review
Background:
Public companies such as the BBC want to show stakeholders that they are getting value for money, so we had to prove that the BBC would be getting exactly that with us. It worked, because Milton Bayer were appointed to design the BBC Annual Review.
Challenge:
There are two things which every annual report must be; engaging and clear. Stakeholders need to be convinced that you are on the right track; that what you have been up to for the past year has been worth their continued investment of time or money.
It can be difficult to make sure that audiences get the right messages in the right way. Also that they are engaged enough to read it! This is our main challenge with any annual report.
Solution:
The concept was based upon ‘connections’ to demonstrate the organisations commitment to regional representation and the two-way dialogue between the BBC and the general public. The graphic style reflected not only the output of the BBC but also needed to reflect the cultural diversity of the country.
Results:
Delivery of this project showed the BBC how fast, creative, capable and good value MB are.
The resulting 52 page document joins the many facets of the BBC together to form a clear and cohesive identity. The main piece was a review document which was then supported by a series of on and offline collateral including exhibition material, e-newsletters and web content.
