Galvins at Windows
Background:
We were given the opportunity to give Galvin at Windows, the Michelin-starred restaurant and bar on the 28th floor of London Hilton on Park Lane, a unique online presence.
Challenge:
What was needed was a new dinerfocused, experiential website which incorporates practical features like online booking and menu previews, but has compelling, interactive content and social media linkups to Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and its own news feed too. Something that works well but is not overly complex, leaving the diner with the curiosity to visit.
Solution:
Our objective in redesigning the website was to evoke the venue's unique look and feel. No other London restaurant can surpass its city views, so recreating its panoramic experience and 1930s 'film set' glamour was a priority, as was creating a light, airy backdrop to reflect the experiential feeling of being 28 floors up.
The site visually recreates the restaurant's location and a true sense of its personality through extensive imagery and profiles of key staff. Short videos showcase the bar team's cocktail making skills, while head chef André Garrett shares some of his recipe secrets. An interactive blog, ('Le blog') enables the restaurant to connect with diners and other users interested in haute cuisine. Galvin at Windows can further promote specific events and news, communicating the restaurant's personality and approachability.
Results:
The site has been very well received being featured on NMA (New Media Age), and awarded Site of the Week.
"A reservations link and phone number are displayed on every page and the online booking system is simple. Of the social media links, the restaurant's Twitter feed is the most active and I'd expect people are more likely to follow this than befriend it on Facebook. This is a crisp site that offers more than an amuse-bouche, while leaving you hungry for the main course."

Is my advertising OK? Well, no actually, it’s not.
I obviously talk to businesses about their marketing, a lot. We talk about how they are holistically, and it’s interesting how often the same topic comes up wit...
