Background:

Mookie are a global sports and outdoor toy company that produce more than 75 products, which are sold nationwide in shops such Argos and Toys R Us. They wanted to develop an iPhone app to promote their brand new Swingball Pro range. Obviously they came straight to us for a chat with our digital team.

Challenge:

It is pointless just producing an App without there being a real business benefit, which translated to selling more toys. Not only did we need to concept, design and build the app, and get it approved by Apple, we also needed to build a full e-commerce micro-site with easy links attached to the App where users can buy Swingball Pro.
Toy brand or not, entertainment has become one of the most important ways to attract consumers and we had to develop a cost-effective answer for Mookie.

Solution:

First we structured a plan of action, found a niche that the app would fit into, and had bucketfuls of ideas, all with emphasis on bags of fun! We created a sense of competition by inventing Swingball Sam, your opponent, and were excited to add the ability to superimpose a users image into a 3D ball too. We designed an easy to use and intuitive interface with a user's experience as near to the product mechanics of the real game of Swingball as possible.

There really is nothing quite like getting people actually playing with your brand. Let them interact with you, get them engaged in your product, and generate revenue! It seems to be working;

Results:

In just a few weeks, Mookie now have a 10% increase in unique web traffic to product and over 1500 downloads from iTunes as we speak! Since the app went live it's caused a bit of a storm on the app store with 5 star user ratings all the way! That's without the obvious benefits of Swingball being at the front of a consumers mind, resulting in nearly 4000 purchases of their latest product since we launched!
